Now the goal is in sight

Torredembarra about 80 kilometres south of Barcelona. Finally we arrived to the Mediterranean, it feels great. Clear warm water and sunshine all the time, it’s wonderful. But first, the Gulf of Lions had to be crossed and it inspires respect, many dedicated to the “harbour jumping” This i.e following ports around the bay because the erratic mistral which can be very strong and difficult to forecast. We therefore held a westerly course a couple of hours, when darkness fell and everything seemed OK, I decided to sail straight across the bay, towards Illes Formigues, “the corner” on the Spanish coast.
